Fertilization restructures nematode assemblages by modifying soil pH in croplands of Northeast China

چکیده

Fertilization is an effective measure to ensure crop yield and food security in modern intensive agriculture. However, the long-term application of mineral fertilizers may lead soil acidification, consequently affecting organisms. Few studies have focused on effects fertilizer nematode assemblages various types. Soil chemical properties were investigated seven fields at China Cultivated Land Quality Monitoring Site Jilin Province, China, determine relationship between (especially pH) evaluate different types (e.g., luvisols, fluvisols, gleysols, phaeozems, chernozems). In all fields, pH was 0.06–1.00 units lower fertilized plots than control plots. A total 8,230 individuals representing 21 genera identified, with Paraphelenchus being most abundant genus (relative abundance 27.93%). Plant parasites leading trophic group, accounting for over 50% assemblage. For nematodes relative plant Principal component analysis (PCA) used distinguish structures after fertilization fluvisols phaeozems but not other soil. significantly correlated assemblage compared These results demonstrate that can acidification negatively affect cropland assemblages.

Soil organic carbon under different landscape attributes in croplands of Northeast China

Soil organic carbon (SOC) was measured in topsoil samples of agricultural soils from 311 locations of Jiutai County, Northeast China. The spatial characteristics of SOC were studied using the Geographic Information Systems and geostatistics. Effects of other soil physical and chemical properties, elevation, slope, soil type and land use type were explored. SOC concentrations followed a lognorma...

Nematode faunal analysis in an aquic brown soil fertilised with slow-release urea, Northeast China

In this study, faunal analysis of nematode communities in an aquic brown soil (silty loam Hapli-Udic Cambosols in Chinese Soil Taxonomy) of Northeast China was conducted through a single wheat growth season, aimed to assess nematode faunal response to the application of slow-release urea fertiliser. Three treatments (conventional urea CU, slow-release urea SRU and control NU) were installed, an...

Immediate responses of cyst nematode, soil-borne pathogens and soybean yield to one-season crop disturbance after continuous soybean in northeast China

Habitat disturbance affects numerous ecosystem components and processes, but its effect on continuous soybean system is less available. Soybean was seeded following six preceding crops, including grain soybean (Glycine max L. Merill.), wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L.), tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.), corn (Zea mays L.) and hemp (Cannabis Satia L.), on a Mollisol ...

Fertilization Shapes Bacterial Community Structure by Alteration of Soil pH

Application of chemical fertilizer or manure can affect soil microorganisms directly by supplying nutrients and indirectly by altering soil pH. However, it remains uncertain which effect mostly shapes microbial community structure. We determined soil bacterial diversity and community structure by 454 pyrosequencing the V1-V3 regions of 16S rRNA genes after 7-years (2007-2014) of applying chemic...
